About Me:
Matthew Hodgson is an experienced social media and web strategist with 15 years experience in information architecture, information management and knowledge management, working with the government and commercial sector to deliver innovative solutions to difficult web problems. He has published papers in the areas of social psychology, has lectured at the University of Canberra on social computing, and is regarded as one of the most engaging speakers on information architecture, agile business analysis, user-centred design, and social media, in Australia.
Matthew’s experience is underpinned by a comprehensive applied knowledge of government and international web and information standards, degrees in organisational psychology and knowledge management, and an intimate understanding of Web 2.0, from folksonomies to wikis and blogs. He has strong agile business analysis, project management and stakeholder management capability, has an engaging leadership style, and is particularly adept at communication with a range of people, effectively liaising with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
Matthew is currently the Practice Lead for Web and Information Management in Canberra for SMS Management & Technology Ltd, a member of the Information Architecture Institute and the Web Industry Professionals Association. He freely shares his knowledge through this blog and is a columnist for The AppGap.
Matthew lives by the axiom that “the only power in knowledge is to share it”.
